Daysi Pena

Program Director

Ms. Pena brings more than 15 years of experience in shelter management, operations and contract compliance with the NYC Department of Homeless Services and with NYC and Washington DC Bureaus of Prisons. She has worked with diverse populations including families, individuals, and people with special needs. Daysi has opened 13 new shelters in her career – the Sanctuary will be her 14th! Outside of work, Ms. Pena enjoys running, karate, and listening to music. She ran several marathons including the NYC Marathon back in 2020 and looks forward to the 2024 race.

Ms. Pena holds a master’s degree in human services with a specialization in Leadership and Organizational Management from Capella University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
